This book will be released on January 24, 2017. I received a copy through NetGalley.
If you’re interested in having a more plant-based diet, this book is for you. Not only are there tons of delicious looking plant-based recipes, there’s also an extensive introduction outlining what you need for a plant pure pantry, a guide to unfamiliar ingredients, and a large list of substitutions for animal products and gluten products.
There’s also a helpful shopping guide on how to plan meals, save money while shopping, and how to store your fruits and vegetables when you get them home.
As for recipes, they are divided up as usual with breakfasts, entrees, soups, desserts and more. Each section has a related topic of discussion, such as “Should We Avoid or Limit Soy Products” or “Plant-Based Holidays.” There’s also a unique section on plant-based dressings and sauces, like egg-free hollandaise and mayonnaise.
There are some great recipes too, and they all look delicious, such as different variations of veggie burgers, enchiladas, stuffed peppers, many plant-based options so there’s something for everyone.
While this book has some great stuff in it, I don’t feel like it is a book specifically for me. I really love the idea of a plant-based diet and this book has something for everyone, I just didn’t find any recipes that I really wanted to try for myself though they looked great. If you’re vegan or just want more plants in your diet, give this book a try!
