Grocery Shopping and Meal Plan – May 17

Oops, I’m a day late on this. I got swamped with work. The house hunt is still ongoing, at least we have some time before we need to move.

Aldi haul:

  • Lactose free milk – $2.79 (still no whole milk)
  • Half gallon of regular milk – $1.59
  • Mango sorbet – $1.99 (delicious!)
  • Frozen broccoli – $1.89
  • Dijon mustard – $0.99
  • Diced tomatoes – $0.55
  • Tomato sauce – $0.25
  • Chickpeas – $0.65
  • Turkey sausage – $1.99
  • Deli turkey – $2.49
  • Asparagus – $2.99 (This bag could be divided into 4 servings!)
  • Bread – $1.39
  • Bananas – $0.76
  • Strawberry preserves – $1.79
  • 2 packages of blueberries – $1.99 each

Total: $26.09

Shaw’s haul:

  • Tomato paste – $1.99
  • Greek yogurt – $0.88 each
  • Orange juice – $3.49 each
  • Frozen broccoli – $0.97
  • Tofu – $1.50
  • 2 lemons – $0.69 each
  • Green pepper – $1.37
  • Baby spinach – $2.50
  • Deli chicken – $7.99
  • Not included – body wash, shampoo, trash bags and toilet paper

Total: $28.20

Total for the week: $54.29

I spent almost $50 just at Shaw’s, but it was mostly household stuff. I need to spend a little more on food and leave household items out of the equation because we don’t have a lot in the house besides what I buy for meals. If we don’t have leftovers, we’re left scrambling for something to eat on the weekends.

I was also able to save money this week because we’re stocked up on pantry items pretty well.
