This book will be released on May 10, 2016. I received a copy through NetGalley.
I love this book. It is a great resource for those who want to feed their families good food, but between schedules and budget, don’t know where to start. This book provides great information for which store-bought staples are worth it, with a bunch of recipes to make them from scratch, as well as a ton of recipes to use those staples in your cooking.
Every recipe has a list of other recipes that can be paired with it to make a lovely balanced meal or to customize it to your liking. It also comes with a lot of beautiful pictures, always a plus in a book about food.
I made Yogurt Chia Breakfast Pudding from the book. It’s a quick, simple recipe to make the night before and enjoy for breakfast. Another recipe I’d like to try is the one for homemade graham crackers.
Once combined, it kind of looks like the flesh of a dragonfruit. Let it sit overnight covered in a bowl. The consistency and taste must depend on the milk you choose. I chose regular dairy milk as that’s what I like best and what I had on hand. Almond or coconut milk, suggested, might make it a bit more sweet. This goes really well with some fruit mixed in.
