This book was released on June 9, 2015. I received a copy through NetGalley.
It took me longer than normal to get through this book, half because I’ve been busy and half because it was a slow read. But that isn’t always a bad thing.
Adrian Wolfe is a family man, but not your average one. He has three families, or he did until his wife Maya was killed one night after stumbling in front of a bus. He’s a serial lover: he married his first wife, Susie, and had two children with her, then left her for Caroline, who he had three children with. Then came Maya.
Adrian believes that as long as he’s happy and can smooth things over, everyone is happy for him. And it seems to be the case, as all ex-wives and all kids get along and celebrate holidays together and go on vacations. Except is everything exactly as it seems?
After Maya is killed, Adrian gets a strange visitor that makes him question if her death was actually an accident. Then the emails and family secrets come to light. What exactly happened that night?
I give this book a 3/5. It was well written and had a compelling story and mystery to keep you reading. It was just a bit slow paced in parts but once it hits the climax, it snowballs as all the mysteries unravel.
